With two successful evening events behind us all that remains is the walk itself so now the focus is on training, training and more training for our walkers Roy, Debbie, Steve and Scott.
Kit has been bought, tried and tested and all four are feeling confident this will see them through the 88 miles!
Here’s an update from each of them . . .
After a 20 miler last weekend Roy said
“Not a bad effort today I reckon. Feeling a bit pooped now! Some stretching to cool down then lying on my back with my legs raised onto the settee is working well for me. Ooo, not long now folks!”Roy Bond – Crazy88
Debbie says “I can’t wait for April 13th! So excited to be part of this walk and being on the team!”And, that’s why its called Crazy88 – who would really look forward to walking 88 miles…?
Steve latest update on his training;
“Today’s walk was just an 8 miler just to stretch the old legs problem being cramping in my right calf so plenty of warming up and stretching down is going to be needed. Maybe some salt intake too, but training going well and I’m looking forward to the big day!”*Fred showing Steve how it’s done eh?! (Ed)
Scott’s longest training walk before the event itself will be walking with Roy from Thorpe on the Hill, Lincoln back to Nottingham he says “It’s a 6am start and a long way, but hey, it’s only one day!”
